I. Introduction to SZU and CIE

SZU is the only comprehensive university in Shenzhen, as one of the top 30 universities nationwide. The main campus is beautiful with complete living facilities and convenient transportation.

SZU started to enroll international students since 1987 and has nurtured over 20,000 international students so far. In 2019, SZU was granted the National Quality Certification of Studying in China by the China Education Association for International Exchange.

Adopting a multi-cultural curriculum featuring both local and global issue, CIE does not only offer regular degree programs at its core, but also develops flexible on-demand non-degree programs featuring different course components and learning periods. It has become the most recognized and established institute for international Chinese education in Shenzhen.

CIE is staffed with a distinguished and professional team of committed instructors, who have been teaching Chinese to international students for over a decade, with TCFL certificates. Quite a few of them own titles of professor or Ph.D. degrees. In recent years, the teaching team has been continuously learning and actively applying new technologies in teaching and classroom, closely integrating teaching content with the practical application of modern social development. So that the teaching level and professional competence are strong, and their teaching earns great respect and reputation from students, with a student retention rate of over 80%.

II. Program Description

Time	8:30-11:40am/13:10pm Monday to Friday (Four core courses) 14:15-15:40pm/17:25pm Monday to Friday (Two selective courses)
Core courses	Comprehensive Chinese, Speaking, Reading and Writing, Speaking via Visual and Audio Aids, etc. to be offered based on different levels
Selective Courses	Chinese Communication for Beginners, Chinese Calligraphy,  Tea Culture, Chinese Painting,Mandarin Pronunciation, Intensive Training on Chinese Characters, Chinese Corner, Appreciation of Chinese Film Works, Overview of Shenzhen, etc
Extracurricular Activities	Orientation Tour in the City, International Cultural Festival, University Sports Meeting, Recital of Chinese Classic Works, Chinese Corner, etc.
Other services	Student visa is provided for this program
Certificate	Learners who complete required credits and pass examinations can be awarded with an Certificate of Course Completion.
Fees	Registration fees: 400 RMB
	Tuition fees: 11000 RMB/semester

III.Levels and Core Courses in Spring 2025

Time: 8:30-11:40 (Beijing time) February 2025 – July 2025 (18 weeks, exact time to be determined)

Duration: 2 academic hours/time, 40 minutes/academic hour.

IV. Selective Courses

Time: February 2025 – July 2025 (Beijing time, exact time to be determined)

Duration: 2 academic hours/time, 40 minutes/academic hour.

V. Apply for Qualification

1. Applicants must hold a valid foreign passport (valid for more than half a year).

2. Applicants are between 18 and 60 years old.

3. The applicant should be in good health, of good character, and abide by Chinese laws, regulations and the rules and regulations of the school.

VIII. About visas and attendance

1) Instructions for applying for study duration and payment

1. Apply for half a year (1 semester) and apply for an X2 short-term study visa to enter the country. After entering the country with an X2 visa, students must report to the college on the registration date and pay a semester tuition fee of 11,000RMB to complete the enrollment procedures.

2. Apply for one year of study (2 semesters), apply for X1 visa entry, after entering the college with X1 visa, students must report to the college on the registration date, and pay the tuition fee of 22,000RMB for one academic year, complete the enrollment procedures, and change to a study residence permit within 30 days of entry. According to the regulations of the university, the tuition fee will not be refunded after the residence permit has been successfully processed.

2) All students with study visas and residence permits must maintain a course attendance rate of more than 80% during the study period, and must ensure a certain pass rate of the examination, otherwise, the university has the right to apply for cancellation of study visa and study residence permit according to the actual situation.
