On December 11th, the College of International Exchange held a series of traditional culture experience activities for international students as part of the dormitory culture festival, namely bamboo weaving. This activity attracted students from all over the world to jointly explore this ancient wisdom from the East.

At the event site, there were no elaborate decorations, only the purest bamboo and the most sincere enthusiasm. The specially invited bamboo weaving master, like a cultural envoy, conveyed the history, techniques and emotions of bamboo weaving to everyone present through each weaving and explanation with his hands and words. From the selection of bamboo in the mountains to the meticulous splitting of bamboo strips and the ingenious weaving of the finished products, every step was filled with the wisdom of the artisans and their reverence for nature. The master's techniques were skillful and rhythmic, as if he were weaving poems about time, culture, and the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature with bamboo strips.

What truly made this event vivid and meaningful was the full commitment and in-depth experience of the Chinese and international students. They either stood or sat around the teacher, some with wide eyes observing carefully, afraid of missing any detail; others boldly tried, though their techniques were clumsy, their love and respect for bamboo weaving art were evident. Students from different countries and cultural backgrounds were closely connected at this moment because of bamboo weaving. With their own hands, they were weaving respect for culture, pursuit of art, as well as their longing and anticipation for cross-cultural communication.

The highlight of the event was the display of bamboo weaving works jointly created by Chinese and foreign students. They incorporated their understanding of culture, their perception of art, and their vision for the future into these works. Each piece was a fusion of cultures, a collision of souls, and a tribute to the art of bamboo weaving.

As night fell, the event came to an end amid applause and laughter. However, the love for traditional culture, the eagerness for crosscultural communication, and the anticipation of endless possibilities in the future took root and flourished in the hearts of every student.
