On May 13th, 2023, the Sixth International Cultural Festival of Shenzhen University undertook by College of International Exchange was held in Yuehai School, Shitouwu Square. The International cultural festival activity this year took “Welcome the 40th Anniversary of the Founding of the School, Show Local Conditions and Customsof Various Continents” as the topic, with sufficient content and diversified forms, including traditional game experience, traditional dance performance, traditional clothing shows, traditional delicious foods, the group chorus performance, etc., aiming to present the characteristic cultural local conditions and customs in various countries in the world, and provide the window for the teachers and students of the whole schooland the alumni to understand the world. The students who studied abroad and from 24 counties in our school established the cultural presentation platform of our country in the cultural festival, and had the excellent artistic performance on the spot. This year is the 40th anniversary of the founding of Shenzhen University, and that day is also the returning day of the alumni of Shenzhen University, the teachers and students at home and abroad, and the alumni gather together, present the ethnicdemeanour and look, view the customs in the world.

Firstly, we welcomed Dean Pan Yanchun to deliver the opening speech in the International cultural festival, next, the students who studied abroad presented an excellent audio-visual banquet for the teachers and students of the whole school and the alumni. The performance started in the song, Letters from Spring, of the International Chorus of Shenzhen University. On the spot, the students at home and abroad stood together on the stage to sing the Huangmei opera, Goddess Marriage, together read Chinese classic poetry with bilingual language, multiple-dimensional cultures integrated with each other in harmony, representing extraordinary sparks;  Next, the representatives of the students who studied abroad wore the traditional clothing of their own countries and appeared spectacularly, pushing the atmosphere of the spot to a new high with an excellent model show. On the stage, the performers of the students who studied abroad performed with great efforts, which did not only have the dynamic and passionate dance performed by the dance regiment of College of International Exchange, but also have the solo of the students who studied abroad with full feelings, in addition, there was also the dancein foreign lands performed by the student studying abroad in Peru, India and Pakistan, the audiences on the spot were totally immersive in the happy atmosphere,the applause rose repeatedly on the spot, which was very lively.

The students studying abroad on the spot wore the splendid clothes of the festival, presented the characteristic clothes, delicious food and handicraft work with their enthusiasm in front of the presenting platform,the teachers and students at home and abroad and the alumni wandered around the presentation platform of various countries and took the photo for memorization, got the “passport” to seal and “punch card” in various presentation platforms to collect the memorial seal, tasted the special delicious food made personally by the students studying abroad, including the milk caramel roll of Argentina, sausage potato salad of Germany, Vinea chicken cutlet of Austria,  Japanese-style fried noodles, Korean pickle cake, fragrant chicken rice of Pakistan, French cheese and dessert, Turkish roasted meat, Thailand mango glutinous rice, Ethiopian braised garlic chicken, and so on. The audiences on the spot can not only taste the delicious food in various countries, but also can experience characteristic, sufficient and interesting games, such as Indian Henna,the red dot experience between the eyebrows, Chinese clothes experience in Han Dynasty, block-rushing game of Malaysia, etc. Visiting freely the representation platform of various countries, everyone had experienced the national customs in different countries, and also felt the diversified cultures and customs. The colorful cultures in the world added radiance and beauty to each other on the International cultural festival this year, the friends in various countries, the teachers and the students and the alumni shared the culturaland communication grand occasion together. As the most important cultural activity of College of International Exchange of Shenzhen University in every year, at the same time when presented the excellent culture in various areas in the world, the International Cultural Festival this year also paid attention to telling good Chinese stories to International students, making the student studying in China understand the China through multiple forms.

Until now, the International Cultural Festival undertook by College of International Exchange of Shenzhen University has been successfully held for six years, and each year is more excellent than the last year, which has become the brand campus cultural activity of Shenzhen University. The International Cultural Festival aims to provide the stage of culture and customs of our country for the students studying abroad, provide a colorful cultural window of the world for the teachers and students of the whole school, at the same time, through vivid and interesting form, they present Chinese excellent traditional culture for the students studying in China, and tell the Chinese stories well to them. The International Cultural Festival Activity takes the culture as the bond, the communication as the purpose, creates the harmonious and integrated atmosphere in the whole school, expands the cultural vision of the students at home and abroad, and fully manifests the characteristics of school management and humanity and demeanour of the education of the students studying abroad in Shenzhen University.
